1.What is art for you?
Art for me is the external expression of ones inner terrain. A culmination of life experiences, the creations become a sort of living journal.
The intention is to extract this energy out of your being in order.
2.How you get inspired?
Inspiration comes from life itself. The concept of being alive fascinates me and I feel most connected to it all when in nature. I tend to get ideas when I walk. In addition the work of other artists inspires me.
3.Share with us an episode about one of your works
There are many stories I could share about my works but I'd like to share a common story that threads my nude photographs time and time again. Most of the models I shoot are not professional models and many times have never exposed themselves to a professional photographer. Nudity has many stigmas especially in America so it's always interesting to see the process of my models. They are usually a bit shy or self conscious about their bodies and are unsure of whether they feel comfortable completely nude. The environment I shoot is very safe and after the shoot I always hear that it was a healing and empowering experience for them. They feel beautiful and are always surprised at how good they feel after. For me I think the form of the female nude is the most beautiful and it makes me happy to hear when the women align themselves with that truth.
4.What future projects?
In regards to future projects it's hard to pinpoint just one. My mind is filled with many ideas and I have a book I write them down in so I can come back to it when I feel stuck. The challenge isn't being inspired but choosing among the myriad of possibilities to focus your energy on for the next few years because that's usually how long it takes to complete one body of work.
5.If you could be a question, what question would you be?
I'm not sure what type of question could describe me but I have some "answers" that might. :)
